Eklectica 2018

Eklectica 2018

GIJoe and I went along to Robin Hills' Eklectica with the Scoutfest team. We were in the same little field as the previous year.

No this wasn't our main tent, we were just using this little pop-up tent to demo how to pack it.

We went exploring and found this big statue of a greater stone Wossname.

The stage was alongside the duckpond!

We had fun climbing on the tree stumps in the woodland.

It was still quiet on the main field. Apart from a passing Elephant head...

We put up some flyers telling people where we were on the site.

When we got back to our area all the tents were up.

MaC and Paul had a chat with Carnival Queen Frankie who was performing on the field.

Then the Festival opened and families started coming to see us.

And as usual the rope handcuffs were star attraction.

No! You're still not there yet!

One of the attractions was a 12-seater (plus driver) bike.

The bike is arranged so that the cyclists are all sat around a table.

It was quite hard to pedal the bike, so the smaller cyclists on this side...

..... were helped out by a couple of bigger cyclists on the other side.

We went round the site and found the amazing Celtic Rock Band, the Wight Hot Pipes.

Kieron (The Piping hot Doc) has led our East Wight District marches several times, wearing a full Scots Guard Uniform. He dresses a bit differently when he's playing with his band!

Sid tried to convince GIJoe that these windmill flowers were actually a very rare type of Lily.

At the end of the evening Sid saw one of his favourite singers - Pixie Lott.

A great start to an amazing weekend.
