Isle of Wight Day 2017

Isle of Wight Day 2017

Every Year we take part in the Isle of Wight Day celebrations. In 2017 this was a parade through the streets of Ryde. We all assembled in Dover Road.

The first person I saw was my friend Alan who wrote a song about me. You can see him singing my song on the home page of my website.

Having a parade means Scout Flags!

1st Ryde Scouts Group decided they'd like to show people one of our favourite activities - camping! So they came equipped with rucksacks full of camping gear and even a tent...

And we were off, with Graham leading us carrying a big banner.

As we went down Union Street we had a brilliant view of the Solent and the mainland beyond.

Every time we stopped the Beavers got out their Parachute for a game of ball toss!

Great fun!

Ummmm! Isn't your grandson a bit small to be a Beaver, Paul?

Take the family camping with you!

If you're camping, you need something to do, so how about boating?

At the end of the day we watched the sun going down behind a Scout banner.

What a great day.
