IW Festival 2019
You can always tell there's a Festival starting when Red Funnel get out their giant deckchair in the Red Jet terminal in Southampton. (There's also a bar, but who cares)...
The next giveaway is the friendly security guard who heads the team at the waterworks entrance on Fairlee Road. For the last couple of years he's had an office! MaC's wife Julie always sends a cake to keep him going!
This year we set up our Scoutfest tent right at the end of all the stalls, next to the camp sites. Well away from our usual area.
Jade and I didn't get chance to do a lot this year, but we did get some great photos.
Next to us were the Guides. Of course, anything that involves a hint of dressing up will attract Scouts like moths to a light.
But opposite us was the best stall at the Festival.... Ginsters Pasties. The wonderful team in the Pasty-mobile kept bringing out samples for the Festival-goers to try. They couldn't let the last pieces go cold and be thrown away, and we had to help them out ......
They had some new flavours to try out on us, but it takes a lot to beat their original Cornish Pasty.
....The 2 volunteers had just come back from helping out with one of their overseas projects.
We had some new members of the Wight Rovers Media Team helping out.
Hatty found some new ex-Scout friends.
We found another ex-Scout who would never forget her adventures as a Scout.
And of course we had lots of fun with the rope handcuffs!
