Sid's Herb Quiz

I was out in the garden and had a sudden idea. I really like herbs and I could set a quiz for my friends based on the herbs in my garden. I'm going to take selfies in 6 of my favourite herb plants.

Herb number 1 is so pretty that it's often put on the side of a plate as decoration. It also makes a great sauce.

Herb number 2 is used lots in cooking, I like it best on garlic bread.

Herb number 3 is often mixed with onions.

This particular plant is a cutting from a cutting which came from a plant which is over 70 years old!

Herb number 4 is often served with tomatoes.

Phew these last two plants are too tall for me to carry my badge when I climb!

Herb number 5 is often used as a sprig, or small branch in sauces.

Herb number 6 is best used as small leaves cooked in with boiled potatoes, or made into a sauce with vinegar and sugar.

There you are: number 1 is Parsley. number 2 is Thyme, number 3 is Sage, number 4 is Basil, Number 5 is Rosemary and number 6 is Mint.
