Belgium

Sid and Jade went to Belgium

Sid, Jade, GIJoe and Mini-MaC hitched a lift for a holiday in Belgium with MaC.

Sid had been to America a couple of years earlier with GIJoe, but Jade was excited because she had never been abroad before.

The holiday started with a ferry and a drive to Folkestone where they got on a train and went through the channel tunnel.

A couple of hours later they arrived at Center Parcs in De Haan and found their villa

GIJoe was impressed by the built in barbecue.  Jade just wanted to chill out on a sun lounger!

Center Parcs has loads to see, from cute little animals to rainbows....

.... and loads of bikes and pedal cars. Sid found a pedal car which would look great at the annual Revolution camp!

The north coast of Belgium is almost all sandy beaches. Some have great climbing frames, like this pirate ship.

One of the beach restaurants looks like a jungle, with a crocodile, a giraffe and other animals.

Sid spotted a fishing boat in the distance. He could also see a wind farm behind it

De Haan had some interesting shops. GIJoe liked the chairs outside the ice cream parlour while Jade liked the shop selling cats.

MaC went shopping in the local Aldi. for every 10 Euros he spent he got a free gift - an emojii! We collected a lot during the week.

In the next town was a windmill. Next door was a brilliant bakery.

We went to Brugges and saw the canals and amazing buildings.....

....including the Chocolate museum. Unfortunately we couldn't take any photosin the museum.
Brugge is full of restaurants - we had to try one!
Belgium is most famous for making two things.... lace and chocolate
Jade liked the samples from the museum. Sid liked the chocolate covered marshmallows
GIJoe liked the fruit jellies and Mini-MaC liked the nougat (with nuts in)!
All in all - a great holiday!
